In collaboration with The Mobility House, we could take part in the Porto Santo Island project. Groupe Renault and Empresa de Electricidade de Madeira decided to cooperate and create the first smart island that would be CO2-free. Our software there supports electric vehicle chargers and makes it easier for the user to control energy consumption, storage, and distribution.
Client
The project was led by The Mobility House, a European pioneer in smart charging and energy management solutions. Together with Renault and the local utility EEM (Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira), TMH created the Porto Santo – Smart Fossil-Free Island initiative, integrating electric vehicles, renewable energy, and second-life batteries into one intelligent ecosystem.
Market
The Porto Santo project is a pioneering step toward a zero-emission energy ecosystem. By integrating renewable generation, smart charging, and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, it demonstrates how electric vehicles can actively support the grid — storing and returning energy when needed. It’s a glimpse into a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.

Together with The Mobility House, we contributed to the groundbreaking Porto Santo project — an initiative that turned a small Portuguese island into one of the world’s first fossil-free energy ecosystems. Our dedicated development team supported TMH with backend, frontend, and DevOps expertise, helping build and refine the digital layer that connects vehicles, chargers, and renewable energy sources. For us, it was more than software — it was technology shaping a sustainable future.
